Took my 99 xlh sportster for a ride today was running good. When I got home I shut it off to
open my garage door. Then got back on it turned the key and nothing happened I mean
nothing no lights at all I hit the start button and got nothing. Can anyone out there give
me some where to start.I've already had the battery checked and it's good. What next?

If you are getting absolutly nothing, I would check to see if you are getting power to the ignition switch. Make sure you are getting good grounds at the battery and at the ignition switch.
Speedo,
Have you found anything out? My 99 1200 has the same problem. I have yet to figure it out. I have gotten a lead on a possible problem. I have been told that the positive cable to the stater may be loose at the eyelet that bolts on to the starter.
I am checking mine tonight. Let me know if you find anything.
Thanks
I found the problem. If your battery is good and you Main circuit breaker
is good.Check the 3 wires on the ignition with a light and if you don't get a light it is most likely the ignition itself. Also check starter positive cable
at starter with the check light before you do the ignition check. At least thats what was wrong with mine.Electrical is a bitch.Hope this helps.
