help with unknown electrical problem

Took my 99 xlh sportster for a ride today was running good.When I got home I shut it off to
open my garage door.Then got back on it turned the key and nothing happened I mean
nothing no lights at all I hit the start button and got nothing.Can anyone out there give
me some where to start.I've already had the battery checked and it's good.What next?

Two things come to mind, bad battery connections, remove wire brush and replace the battery terminals or a bad main breaker.

That is not the problem I checked the main circut breaker I even tried a new one but still
no luck. Bob

If you are getting absolutly nothing, I would check to see if you are getting power to the ignition switch. Make sure you are getting good grounds at the battery and at the ignition switch.

Don't rule out your ignition switch itself, you could dismount it and try to bridge the terminals on the back to see if it cranks over.

Have you found anything out? My 99 1200 has the same problem. I have yet to figure it out. I have gotten a lead on a possible problem. I have been told that the positive cable to the stater may be loose at the eyelet that bolts on to the starter.
I am checking mine tonight. Let me know if you find anything.
