Default D&D fat cat muffler spacers

Has anyone ever mounted their D&D exhaust and it lined up to where you didn't need the spacers that go on the muffler mounts under the saddlebag?
After some motor work I noticed that it fits differently, it could go either way I think. Thanks.

When I mounted put mine on I used the spacers. I could of put the muffler on without he spacers but looks like it would of pulled the muffler up a little. I am surprised at the papers they send with the exhaust are not that great compared to one hell of a exhaust system.

Thanks, I can put them back in, with just a little push on the muffler.

Since my Fatcat never came with instructions I didn't know what those spacers were for. I didn't install them. The system fit fine. However, the brake lever almost rubbed right through the backside of the head pipe. I sent the system back to D&D and they put it in a jig and determined that the pipe was bent and shipped me a new one for free. I put the new one on and it still was very close to brake lever and would have rubbed through if I didn't do something. So, I took those spacers that were evidently supposed to go under the saddlebag and installed them behind the transmission pipe bracket to push the pipe out. It now fits fine and won't rub through.

Yup..... I ran my D&D without the spacers. It seemed to line up pretty good. I was talking to Lenard at D&D one day about some other issues, and he said you can run them either way. But he said that the exhaust will follow (in my case, saddle bags) the lines of the saddle bags better.

So I put them in and I believe he is right.

Either way works....

The mounting tab on the exhaust goes under the mounting tab on the tranny mount. Then when you use the spacers under the saddlebag, it will all line up straight. Steve

I mounted mine with the tab on top of the tranny mount and 1/2" spacer on the rear which is parallel to the frame.I originally tried with the tab on the bottom and had app. an inch spacer on the rear.It didn't look bad, maybe pointed to the ground a little.Problem was when I test drove it I could feel the exaust hitting the floor board. There's not much of a gap there so make sure you have the clearance which everway you mount it.My Fat Cat didn't come with spacers or inst.either, sure like it though.
