Why question, Why??
i'm really glad to have the opportunity to read about other peoples experiences with mods on their bikes. this gives me an educated guess as to what may or may not work in my application. this forum is a valuable resource for me to tap into for that purpose, and to share information with each other. criticism exists, and that's okay. where else would we have access to such information as we do in here?
Wow, and I thought 3,500 was a lot. And they say bikers are bad people, fooey.
Probably seen ya there & didn't even know it. I was somewhere in the first 200 bikes. Last year's toy run was just over 15,000 bikes. This years was just under 15,000. But still beautiful weather and raised alot of toys and money for a good cause!
Reading this forum, I think it's funny why people question what others do to their bikes. As if the publisher is really contemplating whether or not it is "cool" or "reasonable" to make the same modification to their own bike?! Sure, inquisitive nature rules, but, why do most of these posts tend to degrade or demean such people who perform such mods to their bikes? Why do you want apehangers, or a stereo, or extended saddlebags, or a slammed bike, or a 200 HP bike (not to call anyone out in particular, but these are just some of the topics I've seen lately)? Is it just me or are a lot of these questions posed in a deragotory nature, like WTF were you thinking when you did this mod? Is there not a more politically correct way to ask, or do you think most of these people asking get a rise in seeing the argumentative responses that ensue? Do you really want to know...or do you really feel like saying "hey dumba$$, why the f**k would you do that to your bike?"
and, i have been on a forum or two before, and, every one of them has "that guy", or group of guys, that have to bash everyone, or they are the "expert" at everything, and the "keyboard tough guy". gotta love them. be cool to run into them on the road somewhere......
notes from the peanut gallery,
ride safe, cause they are all trying to kill you,

Some people have nothing better to do than to criticize others, I know I'm guilty of it. Some might say that it stems from insecurity, I don't know about that but I do know we ALL do it from time to time.
You can pretty much pick the screen names of members who love "poking the sleeping bear" and have nothing but negative comments w/no real meaning, but to pi$$ people off. Most days I steer clear of certain posts by looking at last response/screen name.
I might ask what are the benefits of the mods. Sometimes its like "Why didn't I think of that?". As an old partner once said "There's an *** for every seat." Just think, if we all liked the same things we might all be riding Goldwings...doooaaa...I didn't just say that did I?
I've found that the internet's such a gigantic place that it's simply a waste of time to click on threads that annoy or don't interest me but I will occasionally do so just to question my own beliefs.I do the same thing in real life also, can't learn anything new being surrounded by people who agree with everything you believe.
Always been my assumption as well.It is the same on all the forums I frequent.Have to admit it feels good every so often to brow bash.
