A friend and I did a comparison of two 7" round LED headlight offerings - the JW Speaker model 8700 (aka Harley-Davidson) and the Truck-Lite LED from Custom Dynamics.
The cost is significantly different, the performance is minorly different - both blow away halogen lights. Mostly, choice will be based on personal preference.
Attached is a pdf file with the full review, with comparison pictures for your consideration.

That was awesome guys!
Just what a lot of people around here have been looking for. Thanks for taking the time to do a real world comparison and write up.
I really like the output of the JW/HD unit.
Maybe Santa will read this.
Too cool, thanks for posting that. I've upgraded all the lights on my bike to LED's and have been considering HID for the headlights until I started noticing the comments on LED's for the headlight and passing lamps. This is the first post I've seen that's shown a good comparison between two different manufacturers and the standard halogen lights.
I have to say, I do prefer the light pattern that the JW Speaker/HD unit puts out. Naturally, it's the most expensive, but that's just the story of my life. Oh well!
