I had a Harley push button release for my gas door years ago was junk. Do they make a better one now, and if you had it to do over would you buy it again ?
Thanks Jonnierock
Just put the lockable one on two weeks ago. With only 2 rides since I put it on it seems to work well so far. Some guys have complained that they rattle and some have said that the newer version no longer does. I will have to wait to find out.
I put a push button lockable one on my 2003 back in 2004. Still works, but from day one was always a bit finicky. Love it because most of the time I dont have my keys with me.
I installed a push button fuel door (just the button on original door)on the 10 ultra. 5K mi. with no problems. the up side is no digging for a key, especially when doing a straddle the bike for a splash and dash. Plus I think it was about $30.
The only thing I don't like is when closing it. I expected it to click when closing and getting a positive lock. With mine it takes just a little more force to make it lock shut. Push it closed to soft and it may not close all the way.
I don't know if they are all like that or just the one I have.
I have not noticed and looseness or vibration or making any noises. All and all I would buy again.

I have the lockable push button type on my '08 and it works fine.
Just make sure the little brass nut is tight or it will drive you nuts either from the rattles or difficulty mashing the button enough to get it to open.
