push button is crap. they fall apart- possibly leaving the rider ( me) 1/2 way to Sturgis and i can't get gas into my tank!

I had THREE of them fall apart over the years, the brass set pin comes loose, the mechanism falls apart...

I always have keys with me when i ride.

I gotta get my wallet out for gas, not too much trouble to get me keys out at the same time.

I will say though that my first non-locking push button rattled after about a week. I brought it back and they gave me a new one which hasn't rattled yet, but that's only been 6,000 miles so far. Locking one never rattled with 47,000 miles.

It has been redesigned and it's good now. You are right about the old style ... they were junk and a pain to use.

I have one from Küryakyn and it works great. I got tired of getting the key out of my tourpack at every stop. I hope it dont rattle apart

i dont know which "version" i have, but bought it two years ago. smooth. had it on my 03 ultra and now on my limited. i bent the tabs a little so it is solid and secure and i keep it lubed. no issues. would do it again in a second.
