I'm replacing the front tire on my '09 StreetGlide. I've seen 407,402,204's(Dunlop). What is a decent tire for my application(17 inch)?? For now my rear tire is ok, I'm replacing the front wheel also, thanks in advance for any/all suggestions
You will get a lot of answers on this and everyone will swear their brand tire is the best. All I can say is my stock Dunlop 402 that came on my 08 FLHT was changed at 57,000 miles with another 402. It still had 4/32 thread when changed.
09 FLHTC The stock 407 was replaced by the 408- I have 4000 miles on mine, it's fine.
I also have the Dunlop HD replacement for the rear- also fine at 4000 miles.
I did get these at a local dealer who had 50% ( of inflated list) sale and install was reasonable. I paid $278 for the rear , the front I had done under warranty, so no charge.
If you are between riding seasons, watch for specials at your local shops
tgreen,
If you have a 407 on there now, there's a good chance you can get a replacement (408) under warranty.
i have the original dumlop( ha- ha) 407 on mine at 10500 mi seems to be ok .if it's cupping i haven't noticed it yet.but i do think they are replacing these with the 408 model

On your 09 SG you have 2 choices if you want Dunlop, 408F or American Elite. Not too many tires available in 130-80-17. By changing the front wheel that gives you more options.
