Who has installed these?
I was going to put them on my new SG but after the dealer told me I needed $600+ in parts and a couple hours labor, I've chickened out. If you've installed these can you tell me if all those parts are really needed.

I'm having Wild 1 518s installed next week. My indy quoted my $500 and he supplies the stainless cables run internally. I'm supplying the bars (about $170) and new grips (about $80) Screw the dealer. Find an alternate.

I installed the 2" Pullback bars on my Ultra Classic several months ago and it took me 8 hours, but I took my time. The only parts I needed were the handlebars($150), new clutch cable($99), transmission cover gasket, and 1 quart of Mobil 1 gear oil. Replacing the stock bars was not difficult, just time consuming. Get a service manual and then plan on spending the day in your garage. Are you sure the dealer said $600 for parts, or did they mean $600 PLUS parts?
Mine were installed at delivery (2010 Ultra Limited) and had the same parts list as djkolp, and a boat load of labor at book rate.
However..... I gotta say I really DON'T like the H-D pullback bars. They force your wrists too much to the inside and it's painful after a couple of hundred miles. Find a way to try them on a bike, or on a dealer's mock-up of your seating position. You may find a need for different bars and it'd be better to find that out before you spend beaucoup bucks.

I agree that the Pullback bars could flair out just a bit more at the grips, but they are superior in comfort to the stock bars. I might look into the Wild 1 575's, as they look like they have a perfect wrist angle.
I installed the pull back bars and did not even need to replace the clutch cable. I found that the clutch cable is a little tight when you turn the bars to the right hand stop, but did not feel it was tight enough to actually install that $100 clutch cable, so I took it back and got my money back. I am also in agreement with others that the bars are not the most comfortable and feel a person could do better by shopping around.
