The 255's are an upgrade, none of the 103's came with them stock unless somebody replaced them.

I concur, I believe only the Screamin Eagle bikes have the 255 cam from the factory. So yours probably has the same cams as the 96.

The dealer could look it up on their parts computer for replacement parts to confirm.

Default same as a 96

this has been posted alot already. the 103 motor from factory has the same cams as a 96. you can get 255 or any other size put in. techically the factory will say as soon as you put in a se cam your warranty is void. dealers will tell you it wont void it and other say it will. the stage 2-3-4 kits come with different cams. since you already have the upsized pistions all you need are cams . new heads will also add to hp and torque. you will need a racer tuner or a power commander to change the fuel mixtures so it dont lean out after you change things.

Not sure what cams come in the Police models... A few very knowledgeable members on here ride ex-Police models so, I'm sure you'll get your answer.

Edit: LOL!! There ya go! Got a phone call while make first reply so, rushbass beat me to the post!

I ride a 07 ex police RK. I swapped the cams in my bike last spring. The stock cams in the 103 motors in the police bikes are the same cams as in the 96 motors. They are not SE cams. The only bikes that come standard with a SE cam is the CVO bikes. The police bikes, Limiteds and the power pak 103 upgrade all get the same stock cams that are in the 96 motors.

Who is telling you they have 255 cams? It's not true.

I know you asked the same question over on HTT and got the same answers. Rushbass gave you the same numbers you were given over there. There was a rumor when the police bikes first came out that they had SE cams because the Moco claimed the motors were putting out over 100 ft/lbs of torque. But the Moco's hp/tq ratings are at the crank, not at the rear wheel, so the actual output is about 10% lower.

If you're going to be doing much of your own maintainance work, you should get a service manual and a parts manual. You could look up all of your parts numbers yourself. You can also try the microfiche library at Ronnies HD website. http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....m_oem/hdmc.asp

you're gonna like this. the stock cams in the 96 and 103 actually have the cam lobes pressed on to the camshaft itself. i also have an 08 model and when building it to a 103 i looked at the cams, and sure 'nuff, the lobes are pressed on. there are no splines nor flat or anything to prevent them from going out of phase. in my reasoning they used an interference fit, perhaps having hot lobes and pressing them on cold shafts thereby ensuring a locked fit, but the lobes will be the hottest part of the camshaft assembly thereby increasing the likelihood of them shifting out of phase. both harley dealerships i deal with have experienced several of them shifting out of phase. competition cams is who makes the screamin eagle cams for harley, and they're one piece like they should have been stock. as for your original question, i believe that the 103's have the same cams as the 96" motor.
