Big Pete I have these cams in my 2011 Street Glide with all the facts of my bike on the Dyno section in the posting group #350. I have the stock pipes with a gutted cat, 4 1/2" V&H high outputs, SE Ventilator, and SE Race Tuner . I installed 3 months ago and had a 2 into 1 with a High output and got 81.29 with 91+ tq. I now had it re-dynoed with above items and it came to 83.63HP and 93.45Tq. Tq is ibetween 3500 to 4000 RPM and the Hp at 5300 to 5700 Rpm. The tech told me to go to V&H True Duals. It has a very quick response from get go and up and the RT is set for 6500 but I get better hp shifting at 6200. Now my Brother has a 2011 Road Glide and has a map $50 and race set up download at a 149.00 charge at Harley. He has V&H X pipe and same High outputs pipes a SE Ventilator. At our take offs hes a bike+ length back but if we race from 3 rd gear on to 6th he does catch and pass at 112 to 115 and we bury speedo. I need help on which V&H header set up to pick for more power. I hope this will help with other posts also I never had a heat problem like I heard about the 259s. I live in Hot Fort Lauderdale Florida, and we ride 250 to 300 miles every Saturday.

im rocking the 254-E cams with a thunderheader 2 into 1 exhaust with SE high air filter and tuner on 12 softail slim. Bike was on the dyno and have similar specs/results to what people have been posting. It has good "all-around" torque but definitely likes and responds when rpm and speed is higher.

Default A little SERT help PLEASE

Hello,
I am looking for some help if you guys don't mind. I have an '06 Dyna that came with the SE Race Tuner when I purchased the bike.

I am looking for a map to get me going until I get her dynoed. If someone would be willing to point me in the right direction or even get me a map for my set up I would be willing to pay you for your time via PayPal. Anyway, this is my current setup:

3.932 Flattop pistons
254e cams
4 3/8 inch stroke wheels
50mm SE TB w/ 4.9 injectors
Big Boyz ported heads
RB Racing 2-1 exhaust

Thanks you!
-Paul

Default SE 254E kit /Comments from Dealer

I am also looking into the 254E set for my 07 SG. I am currently looking at having the dealer install the kit. Please let me know your thoughts on the price and projected outcome. Thanks in advance.

Dealer response to my inquiry on the SE254E kit:

"We are running a special right now which is $1360 for the completely upgraded cam compartment (hybrid billet plate, high flow oil pump, hydraulic tensioners, 254 cams, and all bearings and gaskets that go along with it). Doing this would also require having a full dynotune done, unfortunate part of that is that it costs $820 for the full dyno with the tuner. Tuner alone is $460 dyno labor is $315. The dyno will eliminate the popping on decel and provide hp and torque gains for mountainside pulls in the mid range rpm’s. We can replace cams only for around half the price of the full upgrade using the stock cam plate and oil pump, so that is an option but for overall durability and rigidity the upgrade is absolutely the way to go."

Your thoughts?....

I've rode a friends bike with the 254'e cams and I think you will like the 204's x 10 better. That's the honest truth.

I thought the 2007 already had hydraulic tensioners. If the 1360 includes the dyno and tuner that is not bad.

No. I wish it included that. The turner and dyno are going to run another $820.00 according to them. I am new to Harley and have been reading here all I can to educate myself. Not sure about the hydraulic tensioners though. You just gave me some more homework. LOL. I am more familiar with vehicles. For the parts/ work it sounds high for some reason.

I bought this bike from this dealer. I didn't know it had a stage one on it until the service manager told me after I questioned him about the type of air cleaner I had; which that question was sparked by Bitchin Baggers who put on my Bagger Brace. I asked about some pipes and he said "your gonna need a heavy breather AC" and reached behind the cover and said "oh..., looks like you already have one". He said the bike already had the stage one and to double check with the dealer to see if it had the download as well.

Well long story short, the service manager finally told me I have the stage 1 but couldn't explain what type of download. Maybe now I am being paranoid but, I feel like, what else aren't they telling me? The bike thumps/ lopes at idle, a lot more than my buddies 96ci heritage classic. How would I know if it already had some sort of cam set?

Again, it could be paranoia but when I asked them about my 1.5 front lowering kit they installed, they said it was all measured up and all was well. That same indy was like "nope, sorry, that's only an inch" and proceeded to show me a SG with 1.5" lowering kit and mine was off by .5'' of an inch. So again, I took the bike back and they said during the next service they would correct it.

Anyway, How would one know if they had stock cams or an upgraded cam set if they were not informed by the dealer, service dept or previous owner. I ask because I am interested in the advertised extra pulling power of the 254s. Don't get me wrong, the bike pulls well now but, a little more won't hurt either. Thanks all.
