Default Installed the Jackpots this evening

Thought I'd give my own little review if you have not read enough threads on these already. First impression out of the box was quality. Heavy well made exhaust with a great finish. Everything was well packed. I ordered the straight cut standard dyno tuned and added the black billet end caps. I did have them put in the quiet baffle. I had them ship me the standard baffle in case they were too quiet but remember, I was a Goldwing rider so quiet means not even knowing the bike is running. These are not quiet. They are great. You get to hear the rumble of the big V-twin and plenty of bark without breaking your head open. I have no intentions of pulling out the quiet baffle. I like them like they are. The only question now is performance. I had Rineharts on there and hopefull I will not notice anything much at all in performance loss. I think with the standard baffle I might have had a gain in performance over the Rineharts, but with the quiet baffle I'm just not sure and there is a lot of freakin snow on the ground here so I won't be able to test them on the road. I'm really aching to get out and run this bike now. I had a lot of doubts when I ordered them, but now I'd recommend them to absolutely anyone. If they are too quiet I can pull out the insert in the quiet baffle, or even pull out the quiet baffle and put in the standard baffle. They are really versatile and can please a lot of different sound tastes out there. Thumbs up to the Jackpots. Next to the big bore this was my best upgrade.

The billet end cap option is a little disconcerting. They are spendy, $149 for the pair, and they slip in pretty easy. They are held in there with a couple hidden set screws from the inside. It's a nice clean look but you wonder if they might come loose and drop off on the road. The Rineharts use three bolts from the outside. Not as clean but you know they are held in there. Hate to lose that money. When tightening the set screws you have to be very careful. You will quickly feel and maybe see the dent the point of the set screw is making in the exhaust pipe. I hope I have mine tight enough. I didn't want to punch them all the way through. I did use loctite as Jamie suggested. Hopefully all will be well. I guess to think about it I have not heard of anyone losing theirs.

I was just cleaning my bike yesterday and noticed the forward leading outside edge of my monster ovals on both sides are badly scraped and dented. I thought it was my floorboards hitting after I fitted the extenders. Does anyone know if the Jackpots sound the same as the ovals. Would be better if the Jackpots were quieter with the silent baffle compared to the ovals.

I have to agree. I've had my slash downs with the billet end caps and quite baffle for about a year now. I agree they are not to quiet, the sound for me is perfect. I went on a couple long trips this last summer and the sound was perfect even after 8 or 9 hrs. on the bike for several days in a row. I also got the pc 5 and the power map and milage map from Jamie. The whole package has been the best addition to the bike yet. On my trip to Red Lodge Mt. over the Bear Tooth with the milage map I averaged about 50 mpg. and had all the power needed riding 2 up and fully loaded. Great products and quality, if anyone is riding the fence like I did for so long I would say go for it you won't be sorry.

I was concerned about them and Jamie sent a DB level email with different choices. I love mine with the quiet baffles in and the insert removed.
