The great thing about the anniversary editions is that you can buy them cheap. The bottom dropped out. The thought that they would hold value only works in the buyer's favor now. I have a 100th - johnny come lately. Guess it sold in 2003 for 20k. Picked it up for 7k with 8k miles. It's not really much different than any other Softail up to 2007 when they changed to a 6 speed and a few other minor changes. Somehow I doubt I could have gotten into a Heritage Softy for that price if it wasn't a 100th. I could care less that there are 400,000 identicals out there. All in all, it's only tins. It's the other ingredients I wanted. Oddly, over in Europe the 100th's sell for upwards of 18 euros = 20k american again. Go figure....
I don't think of myself as a "striper".
Maybe if HD got somebody with an eye for color to pic the colors for their anniversary bikes they'd be worth more. I believe the color-picker is color-blind. The '08 anniversarys are a good example.
I bought my 08 for the price. Discounted $2000, and that was in December '07. As for the 03, I bought used, dime a dozen. I think what ever Harley floods out there plants, they will be cheaper down the road. Would not surprise me to start seeing cheaper Streetglides for one .

every one seems to complain about the 105 paint but I think it's a good looking color scheme so what that another company has similar colors. I never heard anybody say that was the uglist battery they had ever seen.
I also own a 105 Annv ultra, and I like the color. I bought it because it come with ABS as standard, it also come with some other extras but it was mainly because of the ABS. I didn't buy it because I was thinking of the resale value. And lastly do I think it looks better that a black Harley, yep I do. Just my 2 cents.

I might have fun razzing people about that color, but I don't really dislike it as much as that.
Too many of them out there though. Takes away from it for sure, just like too many bright yellow cars would be hard to appreciate.
Besides, it only matters what the owner thinks of the color.
