H-D extended the production run to 15 months with over 400,000 "anniversary models" sold.
I've only seen a few 50th anniversary bikes ( 1954) which had the fender medallion- but no real value is placed on a 54 over a 53 or 55.- the medallion is a nice conversation starter.
In one word...NO. You would think if any anniversary model would hold value it would be the 100 yr model. Yet i see the 2003 models discounted and advertised for the near the same price as 02-04 models. If the anniversary models were rare it would be a different story. Fortunately, HD produced a gluten of them, so they are a dime a dozen.
I don't know how many they made , but, all my friends who went to the 100th in Milwaukee said that the 100 anniversary bikes were on every street corner. Too bad about that but I don't think they will ever be collectors items!
why would anybody pay extra for an old bike? all it is, is just another old bike. who cares what year harley started? the question is how much longer will they build an air cooled motor? that last year will be worth something...to people who care about such crap.
