Default Header change results

Has anyone changed thier header or gutted the cat on the stock header and not perform a download or add a tuner? What were the results, good and bad? I am running slip ons, everything else is stock.

Thank you for the response, I am not sure if I am going to mod the stock one or go true duels. I am currently running Super Trapp Fat Shots and it is a little quiet.

i gutted the cat, have a nightstick 2-1, and have not done the download or the rest of the stage 1. funny thing is, this bike will outrun my 07 that did have the stage 1, with pciii, and get better mileage while doing it.

I just removed the two-into-one system off my 08 Ultra. Purchased true duals for such a great deal I couldn't not buy them. Not really crazy about the way it runs (killed the low end grunt) but it sounds sweet. The 2-into-1 system started looking ratty. And I take very good care of my bike. The chrome was peeling off the end piece and I had some minor scratches where I got boot goo on them. Mfg said no replacement shields were available. Hoping the true duals last a bit longer than the two into 1

Yes I gutted my cat and can say bike runs great and sounds nice; completely stock otherwise, 2011 Limited btw.

If you have a cat. you will never pull it off.
It will run too lean.
PCV is the way to go

i disagree. if you just lose the cat and add a slip on muffler without adding a free flow ac, it'll be fine. it'll still run epa lean, but not overly lean.

I rode my 2010 Limited with a Fullsac (cat-less) header two or three times before I flashed the ECM (using TTS Mastertune, with a dyno-tuned map that I got from Fullsac).

The bike definitely ran better than stock with the new header and without tune, and I wouldn't say I noticed anything "wrong" with it (at least compared to before the header). But doing the tune made a noticeable difference in my case (more power, much better low-end grunt, and crisper throttle response).
