i have a 2007 Flhx. I am putting an Agitator front wheel on. I know that i need to switch bearings, spacers, rotors, calipers etc,,..But what is the benefit of a 19 " rim as opposed to a 18 " rim? Is it cosmetic only, or how much will handling be affected? thanks.
Cosmetic, buy whichever you think looks best, the tire O.D. is the same. The disadvantage of the 19 is that Dunlop is the only company making the 130/60-19 tire at this time, that could make finding one tough in an emergency, your call.
Something to consider too is a front end lower spring kit. If your tail is lowered already, you may need one up front as well if you go w/ the 19" set up.

The 19 doesn't effect the front end height, as someone else stated the outside diamiter of the tire is the same as the 16 or 18, only the profile of the tire is much lower. The lower profile tires do give you a harsher ride, you don't notice it much going from the 18 to 19, but you will notice it going from the tall puffy 16 to the stiffer 19.

I never said that you HAVE to lower the front in. I said that you MAY want too. One of my good friend just purchased a 2011 Street Glide (103 package) and went w/ a 18" rear & 19" front and now he wants to lower the front as well. I sure it all depends how on you want your bike to look. My bro is around 5'10" and it's a little too tall for him. The 19" made a difference to him.
I replaced the 16/16 stockers with 19/16 PMs. No ride or handling difference noticed. Your safe til you go to a 21 then the geometry is noticeably changed. 19 in is a factory size tire so any stealer should keep them in stock. How many front tires do you wear out anyway?
