FXRG jacket and pants. Eliminates the need for the rain gear. Pricey but sure works great!

High-Viz with gaiters here. The second Harley starts making their Gore-Tex gear in High-Viz, I'll upgrade.

I have been a big fan of the 1-piece suits and now using a Fieldsheer 1-piece suit with good luck. Not too expensive either at $60 price range. Has built in bag and strap for storage. Nice piece of gear when I need it.

+1 on the Nelson Riggs, good quality, and reasonably priced. I find it hard to pay the money HD wants for their rain gear, just because it has the logo's on it.

You are correct, the jackets & pants are sized to fit over your riding gear. To be safe, bring your gear with you and try them on at the shop.

Default is that good idea?

I would be afraid of hydroplaning at that speed. Am I overly cautious or realistic? What do you experienced riders think?Should that be a new thread? Sorry if this is a hijack, I am pretty new to HDF and not sure of etiquette.

Frogg Toggs - hate riding in the rain and use them only when I get caught in it. Small and work great, even though they feel like paper...

Frogg Toggs, light dry and cooler than pvc or plastic suits, just don't get them on your pipes
