I'd suggest not changing anything as far as tuners or aftermarket add ons until the dealer resolves the basic issue you have with the bike dying. Good luck.
it may be a faulty heat sensor. machine may be at normal operating temperature of 235 but the sensor reads, say 15 degrees. this tells the engine it is cold so the fuel is flooded into the engine---killing it. liken this to pulling the choke on a warm engine. just a thought.
if it's any consolation, mine is still doing it and it wasn't the heat sensor nor anything else that was mentioned here. been at the shop for a week and a half and it hasn't acted up. i share your frustration.
UPDATE- I use to think that I lost all elecrical power when this happned because I would always pull over, shot everything off and then turn it back on.
Well yesterday When it happened the first time, I was so ticked off and was going about 65 mph. I just pulled in the clutch and let it back out....slow and did nothing else. She fired right back up and I went down the road for another 10-15 miles and was coming off of an exiting ramp down shifting and was in 2nd gear and about ready to stop at the stop sign and it just died while in gear. I was not even giving it gas. Hit the starter button and it fired right back up.
There is a start interupt on the clutch lever on the 07, not sure if it could kill the motor, but it sounds like a good thing to have checked out, would explain why it starts back up cause im sure you pulled the clutch in as you stoped. Also it being a simple on off type switch it would not throw a code, the bike would view its on off as just normal operation.
Could you define "dieing" a little for me? This morning on my ride to work I was decelerating as I approached some traffic. The bike suddenly hesitated startling me a little, but then immediately went back to normal. At the same time my radio turned off then back on and so did my Sirius radio which is powered by the 12V outlet in the fairing. Would this be the same "dieing" that you experienced or did your bike completely shut down for a longer period of time (i.e greater than 1 second)? Thanks.
I have an 07 Ultra, died 3 times on me this past Sunday. Mine dies at low idle though. Started first thing in the AM, gave a little clutch to get moving, pull clutch in and bike died, radio turned off, and then right back on. Rode fine for about 60 miles. After a breakfast stop, started the bike, moved out of the parking space that 3 bikes were in, bike died, all electric appeared to go off for a second or two, then came back on. Bike ran fine from west of Fort Worth over to Stroker's in Dallas, pulled in to park, bike died. Rode home after everything was OK. Dealer hasn't found anything yet, they can't get it to die, go figure!
Anyway, at this point, my problem appears to be at very low RPM with the clutch lever, not running down the highway, which I fear might happen next! I will have the dealer check the start interupt on the clutch lever that gunrunner wrote about.

Sure can. Mine sounds pretty much like Biganvils problem except mine has been happening more at 40 to 65 mph rather then at lower speeds......until that 1 time, yesterday. I too believe that I lose all fire/electric for a split second. I have to say though that mine seems to lose ALL electric too. I have pulled over to the side of the rode and my radio would be off too. I would turn my ignition switch off and then back on again and the radio would come back on as well and the bike fires right back up. Yesterday though, when it happened and I just pulled the clutch in and let it back out again, I didn't have the radio on.
I have had it in the shop and they have looked everything over. Bike never throws an error either and of course when they test drive it, nothing goes wrong. Ha!
