Why put yourself threw this, safety is an issue also.Welcome to the lemon farm.Mine has did what you descibed as well.Whats it going to take for the MOCO to stand behind these new ones.
Bryan, I was wondering about this as well. Today was the first time that I rode the bike for any real length of time after installing my Draggin' Baggers system. It is also the first time that this dieing has occured. Other than the obvious ground at the battery where I connected the ground from the DB compressor what other grounds should I check? Thanks.
just a guess and there are several ground spots on the bike...check for tightness and is the connector connected...in a mechanical situation, troubleshooting is generally started with the easiest first.....ex, does it have gas?....you have an electrical problem...look at the schematic at the back of the SM and go from there or just start lookin and wigglin stuff with the motor runnin
I spoke with the service dept today and they told me that another 07 had just been in with the same problem. They believe it to be a loose ground from the start interupt to the ECM. They are to work on mine this Friday. Will let you know what happens.
Please do let us know what you find out. My bike has been in the shop 3x. I know they have plugged/unplugged, removed the fairing, side covers and checked for connections of all wires etc etc. At least this is what they tell me.
Gunrunner- The bike DID do the dieing BEFORE I had them remap it as well.
Those of you having this happen- Are you running stock mufflers or aftermaket mufflers? Mine started doing this about 250 after I put on some aftermarket mufflers but BOTH HD shops say that would NOT cause the bike to die! The bike has been re-mapped since as well.
Just called dealer today to take bike BACK in. They of course told me this is the first time they have heard of any 07 dieing.
As for the tranny- He said they get lots of complaints but HD says nothing is wrong. There has been a few problems with the oil ring? and they have replaced 1 engine and 1 tranny so far. Also said the big knocking sound from the start on start up is normal.
