I wear two types of boots. Both are excellent, supportive, grip the road, waterproof (keep 'em greased and conditioned) and most of all, protective and comfortable...

Lots of feet out there, and they all require different needs. You need to try on what you are going to buy, not shop for boots through the mail. Just my opinion. I've made the mistake of buying boots that "looked good", and now I focus on boots that "feel good".....

I have 2 different pair of Coracan boots that I wear from my Army days. I have a pair of Marauders that I wear when its warm outside and some Field Boots for the cold.They are both over 10 years old and still in great shape and very comfortable once broken in. Oh and some black leather Chucks every now and then.
