I believe you might mean Branded Leather http://www.800branded.com/page2.htm

They're located in Long Island City (NYC) and as far as I know are still there. I bought a leather from them also approx 15 years ago and have worn it since then, a bit 'bleached' from the miles and weather but nothing a little dye wouldn't cure to make it look new; one of the few that still use only brass zippers and snaps. Very easy to deal with also

After looking at some of the "high end" stuff on some of these sites mentioned, I'm thinking "they don't make 'em like they used to"! From the pics on their sites it didn't look like anyone uses brass anymore (or maybe my eyes are worse than I think). Branded makes their stuff 'on-site' and the buck stops there. A guy called Bear used to manage ( don't know if he's still there) and he made sure you got something you were happy with and I've heard it rumored that if the cow wasn't a U.S. citizen, they'd reject the leather

Langlitz still uses brass snaps and zips.

yup, that's the company. I remembered their website was a little tough to find. I've got their horsehide mil spec A2 jacket. It took about 2 years to break in, and 15 years later it still looks like new. It's not exactly a riding jacket, but I do wear it sometimes. I'd like to get one of their traditional biker jackets someday.

I have a leatherup jacket that is as good as the day I bought it over 5 years and 100K+ miles ago. Wife tried a few different leatherup jackets, and then got a Fox Creek. She loves it.

After my experience with a cage this last summer, I am currently shopping for a leather jacket with armor.

Have to agree with you on the FXRG, very grudgingly bought mine, would never part with it, also have the riding pants to go with it. Have rode from state to state, has kept me both warm and dry, vents work well in warmer weather, doesn't get to uncomfortable until temps approach 90......

Are the non FXRG Harley Leathers any good? I've been considering a H-D "Roadway" leather jacket.

Thanks,

I used the FXRG as a sizing reference and it fits like a glove. I found a discount coupon online and ended up paying $200 shipped. the leather is really high quality and feels broken in already. I couldn't be happier with it. It's loaded with features and is incredibly comfortable. I've looked at the jackets that the group I ride with wear and this is every bit as good in terms of construction and materials than anything they have
That looks like a great riding jacket.

What ever you get, be sure to avoid flaps... those do not go well with air buffeting. A jacket with that finish on the neck as in the above photo is the way to go.
