So I'm toying with the idea of going to a 103" in the near future. Of those running a 103, does anyone NOT have the compression release valves?
How many went with the Automatic Compression Release setup?
Thanks in advance
Thinking of this myself in the future and plan on adding SE 255's Compensator, Clutch Spring and ACR's while doing it so don't have any wish I had's later on ..
Automatic's are very nice benefit, whichever way you decide, trust what most are saying here. Do either the ACR's or MCR's. I have the MCR's and never needed to use both. Only the rear cylinder, do I ever mash!
103 stage II SE 255's, no summer experience with this one yet. Had 103 stage II SE 211's on last ride without compression releases and rarely had problems. We do have hot, humid days in NE in the summer.

Hey Jay! What's going on? Bike Week soon yay!!
Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I think I'll go with the auto setup. I like my chrome plug covers too much to lose them for the manual valves.
Have manual releases on my 103 2011 Deluxe - it needs them! Have automatic on my 110 CVO and 103 RK Police. I highly recommend the automatic. Don't know what I was thinking when I went manual.
i had them on my 95" motor i was told they only really help to keep the life ouf your starter and other internal parts during start up. But you gotta love the sound, to me that SHHK SHHK SHHK SHHK before start up is worth the extra 100 bucks it cost me during the 95 build

When I had the stage II 103 / SE 255 done on my street glide I had MCR installed, works like a champ.
My 06 Street Bob will have ACR (because that's what comes on the SE 120R engine. If I could have picked, I would have gone MCR on the SE 120R also. As noted, MCR are easy to service. ACR you have to pull the rocker boxes to change.
I'm running a 124" with no releases, S+S now provide easy-start cams (both chain & gear driven) they automatically release compression during start-up then close once running similar system to VVTI car engines have been using.
Also upgraded starter to compufire 2kW (3HP), starts every time without having to fiddle around.
