[color=#3333FF]Apes on a bike are as f*&cked up as a football bat.

Is it different? Heck yea.....no way that's comfortable...ever!

Not to mention how stupid it looks.

But...to each his own...you asked. I always get a kick when I see someone riding down the road with them......and just think.....

dudes all about image! They are not even pratical.......just dangerous.

I always like to limit & cut down my maneuverability on a scoot. I bet that bike is agile.....errrr....and turns on a dime!

I have 12 1/2" Apes on my RK. Did I put them on for an image thing? Hell NO!!!!! I put them on becuse I always had lower back pain on long trips with the stock bars. I also feel I have alot more controll of my RK while turning corners and at High speeds. I no longer have the lower back pain on long trips anymore. Anything larger then 16" wouldn't work for me.
For those that say Ape's shouldn't be on a Bagger's are probably they same guy's that say 2-1 exhaust look goofy on Bagger's, well I guess I'm a goofy looking Fu**er becuse I have both. And I wouldn't Change them for anything else.

I have them, and love them. I am 6' 2' and they and have no comfort problems at all with 18 inch apes, been on several 400 mile plus rides and hands do not have problems. I don't run a sheild anymore since I have put the bars on so I do feel like a sail at times.

Now with that said I am looking at the new Road King drag bars and may switch to those as I really like the way they look.

Dude it's your ride!Opinions are like azzholes, everybody has one!!!If you feel comfortable with the 16"'s then get them.
I love mine and dont have any problems except i like to push em a lil forward when i take my fairing off.I'm 5'8 and i have custom made 14"s on mine, and i wish i would have went with the 16's but when i went for fitment i had my lowprofile seat on and not my highway azz saver on.Not that much of a difference but the xtra 2 inches would have been the sweetspot for cruising on the highway with the padded seat!JMHO...see i have an azzhole too!!!!

It's incredible the amount of negative opinions, and they arent subtle...

visit some gatherings, take a look at some biker bars... ask to sit and get the feel... I think you will find that teh bikers who have them love them and those that dont... well just dont.

get hands on opinions not some a$$hole who is going to bash them just because... wtf people, grow up, I swear my highschool kid is more mature than some of these pompous ****** on this site.

Get what you like... take your time and make an informed decision

Amen... What is with all the CR@P!! I highly doubt all the Ape bashers have ever even ridden with them... I had a Heritage for years and always had Wild1 504's they were great... When I got my RK I put 16's on 'em and I ABSOLUTELY love 'em... Do you all think its a conspiracy by all us Ape hangers...Hey.. Lets tell everyone they're comfortable when they are really not?? get over it...I've been riding since I was a kid...Do you think I'm gonna endanger myself for the sake of Image??? Pleeeaase... Who cares who puts what on their own bike... I swear this site is getting like kindergarten...

I would say go try and find someone who has them, like at a bike rally. Ask to see how they feel, anyone with decency would let a respectful person sit on his bike to see how something felt. If you like them GO APE! Who cares what people think, GO BANANAS!!!
Personally I'm looking for a bike with low wide cattle horn bars to try out. No luck yet.
Good Luck in your endeavor.

I don't think they would look good on a fairing bike, but I think they look great on Road Kings and I like my 12.5's on my Fatboy

Been riding with Apes since 1974...............The 16's I have now are very comfortable.

They look great on a bagger..,I think drag bars are lousy..............but to each his own..........
