I just finished installing Herko Hydaulic upgrade along with Andrews 21N Cams. I kept my push rods but went in from the top.
$499 for Herko kit which has everything!
$32 for top end gasket kit
$234 for Andrews 21N Cams
Only got a short 20 mile test ride in but I like the upgrade.
RoadDog, I'm VERY interested in your experience with this upgrade. I'm planning on doing the exact same this including going in from the top. What is your opinion of the 21Ns and did you do anything for fuel mgmt?
Guess I don't know what to buy....they have a HYBRID kit,SE kit ...then the upgrade stock kit..........I will be changing cams this year don't want to buy the wrong kit!!!!!

They have the SE upgrade kit and the conversion kit. What upgrade stock kit are you talking about? Unless you are talking about just putting in stock tensioners. If you are changing cams later and not now, then you want to go with the SE upgrade kit because if you do the conversion kit you have to put new cams in with the kit.
So if I want to keep the HQ 0034 cams go with the SE Hydraulic upgrade. If I am going to put new cams in I would do the Hybrid upgrade and use the N/Hybrid cams with that........or just leave it as is and replace the shoes only.

Yes you could use the HQ34's with the SE Hydraulic kit.
The conversion kit that uses the stock plate and tensioners from TC96's would require "N" conversion cams.
Yes you could simply put in the stock style tensioners.
Capt.,
I have only gotten a short ride in so far due to weather. Hopefully tomorrow I will get another test ride. During short ride I could definitely feel the increase torque right from the start.
As far as fuel management I am using a PC III and fuel motto sent me a new map.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.
By the way Herko kit was great and John is a great guy to work with.
