Ebay lowering kit
Not a fan of lowering blocks at all. Is it a lower look you want or do you need to lower it to get your feet on the ground? If it's for your feet, then you should have tried a new seat first, then shocks. If it's for looks, then I would have purchased quality shorter shocks. Whatever you do to the shocks will reduce your lean angle and I'm against that unless it's absolutely necessary, but that's just me. You said you have money tied up in everything else. Why did you go the cheap and easy route for lowering it?
In the second hole, I bottomed out several times on one ride with my wife on back (she's 125 lbs and I am 230lbs) on my Ultra and came home with no rear lights or turn signals. I wore through all the wiring in the fender and had to resplice and rerun all the wires. Not worth the hastle in my opinion.
Mine is on the 2nd hole and we have never bottomed out(that I have noticed) nor touched the wiring. 15psi in the shocks and board extensions. I'm 180 and she's 140. I do scrap on left hand turns easier...but that's just fun. I tend to lean her over a lot....the bike that is.
I think a lot of it has to do with where your fender is placed on the back tire. Mine is a bit off to the right and not centered if you bend down and look.
I'm 5'8" and needed it lower. The 2nd hole is not 2" down...no way. Maybe 1.5".

I've been running lowering blocks I bought 3 years ago from road6customs on Ebay. I've had them on 3 bagger's now. Also run them in the first and second hole from time to time with no problems. Never seen a change in belt tension?? only changes the shock angle about 5 degree's. Lot cheaper and better ride than shorter shocks. JMO
