Default First Harley Purchase

I bet these type questions get asked 100 times a day, Ive read the forum but havnet really found what Im looking for so here goes...

Ive been riding for few years now on a Metric Bike which I like but its not what I wnat so over past few years Ive been looking and saving and now have finances staright so its time to buy. Ive really narrowed down to Road King Classic and Street Glides.
Questions
1) Is there a ride difference between the two bikes. I have test driven these but just dont think you can tell much of a difference during short test drive?
2) I know there was changes made in 09 i believe to the Chassis. Im looking at an 08 now thats beautiful bike but think Im better off to hold off for an 09 or 10?

Forum related question...
Is it OK to post ads and pictures and prices just to see what you guys think of some of teh bikes that I have found online..

Anway..Thanks in advance

Love Road Kings, but if you are planning any long hauls, especially two up, go with the Glide!

Welcome to the forum. The 09 is definetly different, frame was changed. SG and RK sit on the same frame, SG sits 1' lower due to shocks, depends on which one you like better. SG comes with Bat Wing and stereo, RK with detachable windshield.....

Welcome to the board, just my opinion but I think the 09 frame and changes are worth the wait. They get better with every year. I just traded my 09 for an 11, man what a difference. I know finances have a lot to do with it, just get what you can afford and have fun. Nothing wrong with posting the bikes and stuff your looking at if you asking opinions about price, etc ... just be warned and don't have thin skin.

If you get on an 08 and ride it and never get on an 09-11 you'll be happy, but once you ride the new frame there is no going back. I have an 07 SG (wife's bike) and an 09 RG (mine) and there is a difference.

Welcome!

I'd rent each one for a day, many times the dealership will deduct the rental costs from the price if you end up buying a bike from them, ask. I'd recommend the 09 up also, and if your buying new the 103 and ABS.

Welcome. I have a 2010 RoadKing great bike - new frame makes it handle very well.
The 09 and up also has a 180 tire on the rear.

I would hold out for an 09-up. Most of the posts here from guys that have owned the older FLH's say that the 09-up is a much better package.
