removing broken (well nut?) insert in inner faring

Thumbs up inner fairing brass nut broken

I got that brass nut out with a pipe extractor, try it!

They are soft and can be drilled out very slowly and very carefully. I've had to do it once. SLOW AND CAREFUL.

I've got one of the brass inserts that isn't in all the way. Are they supposed to be driven or twisted into the inner fairing?

If it's in there good and tight, why not just leave it alone and use a longer 1/4" X 20 stainless screw?

Also I think you will find drilling is the best way to go. The replacement inserts are a bit bigger diameter and threads into the plastic hole.
