I've seen a lot of really nice expensive seats on this forum, and i know i can't be the only one concerned about the criminal opportunist that lurk in the showdows. with these seats costing as much as they do, they can be one of the most expensive upgrades done to your bike. I've found a thread mentioning Brukus and their saddlebag secure, has anyone used their seatsecure? I would appreciate response from any who have this system or suuggestions and recommendations on any other good products used by you guys
I have a nice seat on my SG, slot for driver backrest, touring. I put my old sheepskin on with the cut freyed edges out with bungee holding it on. Figure guy walks by and see's this and thinks that sombixch must be hard and just leaves it alone. LOL
I have bought that kit but never used it, been riding for years and have heard of bags or the whole bike being stolen have yet to hear of a seat being stolen. Just remember if you buy one of those kits you have to keep that tool with the bike and let whoever services your bike know about the tool.. seemed like too big a PITA to me so I never used it..
I've never worried about someone stealing my seat. When I'm running around or hitting the bars I leave my helmet and leather jacket on the bike too. At rallies I'm a little more cautious but not much.
There was a thread on this a while back. Someone posted a bolt that is cone shaped with little notches in it, comes with the wrench. I got one at autozone, also (cheaper) at walmart. Either place less than $5. Works good, looks decent. They are license plate bolts, come in a set of two.
Any 1/4 x 20 x 1/2 bolt will work. The one above is too long and must be cut off.

+1 on the license plate bolts. I bought these from walmart and they work pretty good for a reasonable price. Just have to cut them down a little.
