I read this somewhere, maybe on here, but I had forgotten about it. Then after seeing the various pics of others 07's, it dawned on me that the front rotors are on the wrong sides. So I walk out to my 07 SG and check mine... yep, the RH rotor is marked Left & the LH is marked Right. ... Yep, MoCo put them on backwards. The "swirl pattern" in the rotor is suppose to be pointed to the front and not towards the rear. But my rear rotor was ok.
No big deal Im sure but just another "issue" I added to my list for whenever I take it in for the other warranty problems. Winter will be here in time then I will roll it into the HD shop and let them keep it awhile. I have 12 seperate items to be looked at under warranty. I wonder how many will be called "normal" or.. the classic .. " they all do that ".
Anyway, check your rotors & get them to correct it.
I have a set on my 1998 FLHT and eventually put a set on the 07 too. Im waiting until Snow Season here to do my mods. Then all the new books will be out and new goodies available. By next Spring it will be a 103, w/ heads, pipes, better brakes.... etc. The usual stuff
there is supposedly a service bulletin related to brake noises.... the moco recommends that the dealers simply swap the sides/rotors and its supposed to eliminate the noises
if your HD is new, the dealer may have perhaps tried to eliminate a future problem
if its used, the previous owner may have had these very problems and that what the remedy
