Default FLHX Windshield

Hello. Thinking of changing stock windshield on my`11 Street Glide. I`m considering the Harley Electra Glide low 10"(#58301-96) or Klock Werks 8.5" Flare. I am 6` tall and currently ride a sundowner seat. Looking to get rid of wind buffering, but keep a decent look. Any comments, thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I'm 6'2"...had a lrs flip up 8.5, now have a KW 6.5 and they seem to both work the same. This is on a C&C seat that sits you a bit lower than a stock seat.

if you are cheap ( like me)- think about buying stock windscreens from riders who have upgraded.

you can cut them to size---cut the bottom edge ( I use a roto zip)- cut the keyholes a little more open, that way you can swap just by loosening the 3 screws a tad.

I swap seats alot ( intown, touring, etc.) which changes how high I sit on the bike, and swap windscreens to get protection without obscuring vision - I regularly use stock, - 2", -3".

the stock H-D lexan windscreen is quite durable, and mine took an apple sized rock that would have broke my face- some of the aftermarket materials- I dunno.

I usually pay about $20 for a used take off stock windscreen in good shape.
I got some for free from guys with the H-D fairing pouches as the pouches had scratched up the bottom of the windscreens---damage hidden once I cut them down.

I have A Natl Cycle VStream 7.25" screen for sale. Im 5'9" & the top of the screen was right below my eye level. I wasn't comfortable with the height. It did get rid of the wind buffeting. My buddy is 5'11" & has one too & he loves it. It's in excellent condition. It has 400 miles on it. If you're interested PM me

I have a 2010 Street Glide with a 10'' Freedom Shield - dark gray. I'm 6'3'' with a Danny Gray "Big Seat" which sits slightly lower than a stock seat and the 10'' works great for me. They make any number of sizes and shades, so you may want to check 'em out. It was $98 delivered to my door last July.

BTW, if you don't like the Freedom Shield you can send it back for only the cost of shipping.

I have a 6.5 KW on a 2010 FLHX with a stock seat and like it a lot. If you can get to a rally where KW is at they will let you try them. You may be able to find a KW dealer who will also let you try the shield.

Another option is to post a WTB on the KW shields and you should be able to get a used one to see if it works for you.

Ditto on the 6 1/2" Klock Werks on my 09 SG. Keeps most of the wind off me and I use it year round.

I'm 6'3" and the LRS 7" Ultra on mine seems to be about perfect.
