Is there a way I can put my ipod in my saddlebag on my softail and still control it without having to go into the bag? I am putting on ahrd bags and would like to be able to control the volume and song somehow. I can run my charger and audio input into the bag no problem, but what can I do to control the music without having the touring audio controls? Thanks.
Dr.v twin, i guess it depends on the head unit your using. in my truck i installed an ALPINE head unit. it is cd, mp-3, sat radio, and i-pod ready. an i-pod can be cabled in through the back input , and will allow the head unit to control the i-pod, as well as keep it charged. at the time i installed this unit, i did'nt have a i-pod. so i just did a straight install. i now have a touch 4g. i've thought about pulling it to at least install the cable for future use. hope this helps. steve
finally: a useful answer...not some $marta$$ remark. op posted in the touring section. and seeing as all but roadkings HAVE a head unit from the factory, safe to assume that he is running one. guess not. you've seen his bike before....help the guy out. steve
