I am making the jump to a touring bike I have ridden softtails my whole life I am 28years old and still have a somewhat aggressive riding style and need some pros and cons for the touring bike as I have never ridden one.Thank you
Am really interested in road glides
I came off a 2008 Nightrain "slammed" -2 inches and I rode that bike like a NUT. I find that my 2010 Streetglide handles just as well; just get use to the floorboards scraping.
First thing to consider is whether or not you prefer a windshield and then if you do, what windshield or fairing that you prefer. I am 54 and still like to get out and jam some, I still prefer no windshield, I ride an '05 Road King Custom, I have a detachable windshield.
You will be surprised at how well the baggers handle, get the one you want.
The biggest difference is between the fairing bikes and the RK. Their all good but the RK lets you go without the windshield. Does having a stereo matter to you. I didn't think so until I had one. Buy the one that "moves" you. They all handle great (same frame). They all feel a little different because of the fairing-windshield-seat design. The SG has lowered rear shocks some find it a little harsher ride. Test ride them all but keep in mind the you will probably change the windshield, seat, and bars on any of them.
IMO the Touring bikes handle better than the Softails. If you really want a Harley for aggressive riding try a VROD, Sportster, Dyna or find a used FXR.

I was just about your age when I bought my first bagger ( not my first scooter... I'm 61 now ) and have been on them ever since. Since 1992 they have been FLHTCU's and I wouldn't consider any thing else now ..... but that's just me!
