I hear ya, found my bike in October, sat in a barn for almost two years hardly ever used. Gave $8200 for it, well over $5000 spent since getting the bike with the $3100 I just spent at Dr. V-Twin yesterday.
It'll never end, like I mentioned before.... It's an addiction! Hell, ya can't take it with you, might as well spend it on something you like doing!
I am really surprised my wife has been cool about it.

You guys are killing me. Only 600 miles on my 11 RGU and already have over 6 grand in crap installed. Wheels, tires, steet glide fascia, second set of handlebars, multiple windshields, grips, painted inner fairing, blah blah blah. You guys are bad influences. This bike was gonna be the one that I was gonna keep almost stock. LOL. Now, I don't know if I can live without a stereo and difinately am considering the fuel moto 107" kit. I should have known I can't grow up after a couple of customs and highly modded Harleys. Anyway.......rant off. Keep the ideas coming.
2011 RK, and I got extras on it i.e. V&H pipes Ventilator AC and 255 cams, and it ain't out of the dealers yet.... only time will tell where the money will go on this bike yet. Yeah, it will happen. Ain't this forum great!
On a side note- I did get a scavenger from roguechoppers.com to do complete oil change on my new bike, especially during the break in process.

Yea, I hear ya, its kinda like of a love, hate relationship.
You love all the info, suggestions, pictures, and insight.
You hate the "damn this is getting expensive" part of it.
Seriously, this forum has been a wealth of information and help for me.
Thanks to all of you I have leeched info from. I just hope I can return the favor sometime.
Thats easy to say when you have it. I already thought I knew how I wanted to fix/mod my bike. I came here and that has pretty much has changed in just 3 weeks. I am going to get 16 hangers, extended hard bags, eg rear fender, 21 in front wheel, maybe a cam at 40,000 miles. I like to pay for my toys with cash. Its been hard to resist me putting all these parts on credit card.
You guys are making it more than obvious that I am not doing a good job keeping up with the Jones's.
I have almost 240 miles on my RGU that I bought the end of Oct. and I havent even spent $1K on extras yet! For shame on me! I don't want people to think that I am not trying!
Please don't kick me out of the club...
I promise as soon as I get my bike out of storage at the dealer I will put on a BAL tail light and start hunting for the "perfect" windshield. Then maybe some type of parade fan.
I am pretty sure my kids don't really need those braces and as much as they are always bitching about something no one would actually notice if I quit feeding them for a while... Then I could get good stage 1 with a Rev Perf EMS...
I'm trying really hard to keep up... honest

i am always of the mindset to pay the thing off before dumping tons of cash in it. I have so many friends who buy harley after harley and add lots of extras and have never actually owned one as the bank still holds the note. They just keep trading in and spending money.
Other than a stage1, pay the thing off first. Unless you are the kind who spend tons of money so other people can say "hey, nice bike". hahahha
