Default Is this vibration normal?

While stopped at a traffic light I get normal engine vibration on my 06 SG. When I grab the front brake lever it seems the vibration increases and travels through the front forks and through to the handlebars. Alternating between grabing the front brake and not grabing it there is a very noticeable difference. I never noticed this before. Does this sound normal or should I check my motor mounts?

Yes, it's normal. When you grab your brakes you tail lights are coming on. This causes a slight voltage drop which causes the motor to idle a slight bit lower than when there is no voltage load. Cars do the same thing under normal voltage loads. Turn on the AC in your car and the idle drops for a second. No worries my man, all is good.

Sorry Strtgld but this is something different. You can actually see the front forks vibrating differently when grabing the front brake lever and not grabing it. It must have something to do with the way the motor mounts distributes the vibration.

Have your front motor mount checked. Mine does this to. It has since it was new. My motor mount is good. It may seem this way but I do know the more load you put on your Alt the more load your Alt will put on the engine. I could be something different. If you are real concerned about this take it to your dealer.

When you're not grabbing the break the wheel cancels out the vibration by moving, when you lock it down it can't move so the vibration has no place to go.

are you sure the vibration isn't caused by electrical impulses flowing through the wiring?

If it's not normal my bike has been broke from day one. After having the front motor mount replaced it vibrated more for about the first 100 miles. it seems to have smoothed out a bit.

It's probably normal, but I am not there to see and feel it. If you feel this is out of the norm for your bike you may want to have your rotors checked also to make sure they are not warped.
