Just gotta go to a dealer on a nice Saturday morning, or to a bike night & listen, I guess. When it comes to asking questions about the sound of pipes, or the best pipes to get, 5 different people are gonna give you 5 different answers.

Exactly.

Here is one.

I have the American Custom. The Bomber is way deeper than the Rush, not even close. They are loud too. The mid range is closer to the Rush, but still deeper. Not deep enough for me, so I enlarged the holes to 1/2 from 7/16 (might have been 3/8, don't remember) and added two more rows of them, now it is half way between mid range and the open bomber and I like them a lot. I noticed with most slipons there is an annoying little tick, tick, tick noise, I think it is air popping through holes that are too small. I drilled holes until that tick was gone, then added a couple more for good measure which also filled out a complete ring of holes and it sounds good. Not too loud for all day or listening to the radio, but not quiet either. And they are deep sounding.

try them, $200 bucks is far cheaper, get a couple sets of mid range baffles, if you are like me you will push it too far and end up with more holes than you want, so save some shipping costs and get two pair.

Right now I have the set I like the best, but when I mix and match, I also have one baffle with too many holes and one with not enough, so I have something for a little quieter than normal, and something for a little louder than normal or I can go all out with the standard bomber.

I like the sound and I like the choices.

Is that if you wait for your own to be modified or switching them out?
