I can give some good input here. I did my own system and it works flawlessly. No leaks etc. I used Gabriel shocks instead of monroe's. Only reason is the parts store I went to sells Gabriel. Just out of curiousity I ordered the Monroe's to see if they rode any better. It's cost me $55 to find out they don't. Here's my take on the deal. If your bike rides like it did with the DB system as it did with the stock shocks then DB is having something done to the shock. The monroe's I tried rode like sh$t and when I lowered the bike going down the street my fender hit the tire. The gabriels ride better and don't rub.

If you have a little stiffer ride with the DB then they are probably not revalving the shock and just having monroe put the right bushings in so they mount right up. I haven't heard much complaining about the ride from you guy's so I'm assuming DB had some work done to the shock. If they didn't you would be complaining. Trust me.

The white shocks are monroe's and the black are Gabriels.

What I haven't heard from anyone is how much better the ride is. I keep hearing "acceptable, and pretty good ride etc. I guess what would turn me on is if someone were to mention how much the ride had improved from the stock shocks. Most have been pretty low key about the ride beyond the novelty of the product.

You must not be reading all the posts that I am. Everyone that I have read with the system has said it's much better and smoother than stock. I have only ridden mine for about 50 miles, but would agree - it feels great. Heck, novelty is the only reason any of us do half the stuff we do to our bikes, so that's great too, but the ride really is quite nice.

BTW - I just finished putting an air gauge on mine and will post a photo as soon as I get the fairing back on.....

I don't understand why everyone thinks they can just go buy the parts and put a system together. This company designed the system, obviously they don't manufacture they're own shocks, they use someone elses. Buy all the materials and put it together yourself, see if it's as good. Probably won't be, because they worked out all of the kinks. They're entilted to make a profit don't you think?

Read up a couple posts...2006ultra did his own "DB" system for less than $150.00 Same parts, same effects just less money up front and more in his pocket.

If the shock seals and compressor hold air while you own the bike you made out but if they go south on ya bend over then open up your wallet. [sm=sorry.gif]

How the DB system working out for you Jerry? Any issues?
I received my kit but haven't installed yet. I have some issues with my bike about changing out my tail light right now, and since it snowed here recently, I'm just gonna wait til winter to do the mod. I've got a year warranty on it, no hurry here. As I hear more good ideas about gauges and other stuff, I just want to do it once, and guys here are coming up with some good ones. I will mock up quickly before winter tho to see if mufflers hit. Oh, and I've been real busy watching my TIGERS win the ALCS!!!

So basically your saying people should buy the more expensive system you bought that does the exact same thing for twice the money so you can get a lifetime warranty on it and never have to pay for replacements parts? Or are you saying that you should build the system yourself and save money?

By the way... why do you have a throttle rocker on your left side handle bar?

Did my own system. I used a different pump (mounted under the battery). I also mounted my own switch inside the left hand turn signal mount. That way I can use my thumb to actuate the pump or the air relief solenoid. All the parts were $165.00 and it took a few hours to install.
