Speed sensor/boubcing speedometer

I have talked to a couple folks about my speedometer bouncing and they suggested cleaning my speed sensor. This started last year but has been intermittent. This morning I finally got around to checking it out and when I pulled it out I thought WTF over. It looked like a brush!!! I remembered being said I might have metal shavings but expected nothing like what I saw. I was shocked to find what it actually looked like after I wiped off the metal that had accumulated on it. Once I was through I thought to myself why did I wait so long to take care of such a simple problem. Only posting this for anyone else that may have the same issue.

I would still replace it. I had the same issue and kept cleaning it and then one day it went out on a 4000 mile trip. I lost my speedo and cruise for the rest of the trip. I wished I just would have just replaced since it is so cheap...
