cruise control issues
I have a 2003 Road King with cruise that works sometimes. The on/off switch is working (lights up). One day, cruise works & the next it won't.
What are the usual areas of suspect when your cruise starts acting up?

We ran into that problem last year, had to replace the throttle cable
that has the electrical contacts on it, the connection is in front of the
fuel tank.
If you disconnect the wires from the cable the cruse will work but you
will have to hit the brake to turn it off, not safe, but this will tell you
if the switch in the cable is bad. Put new cables on ours
and now works great.

i have a good friend and he rides an 03 road king with cruise. all of the sudden his cruise control would no longer hold speed. after riding behind him i noticed his brake light coming on and going off while on a straight stretch of road. turns out that his front brake light switch was bad. swapped that out and all is well. it's something to check anyway.
