Good job. I do as much maintenance as I can. Gives me a chance to really inspect the bike up close.

Congrats man!! I followed the same path, brand new to riding only two years ago, bought the service manual read that all deployment long. When I got back I did the fluids, and just did a fuel moto stage 1 just a couple weeks ago. PCV, A/C, Head pipes and mufflers. That good feeling only gets better from there!!

FYI - For the newbies...It really does pay to get the service manual for your bike. Also the experienced advice of the veterans on here is awesome !
Ok ... so next month we're all meeting at your place for a "Coldie" while you change our fluids, right! ( Congratulations on a job well done! )

That's very cool! This weekend I joined the ranks of the DIY maintenance folks -- just did my 15k service myself. Service manual and YouTube were indispensable. I'm not the most efficient wrench in the world but I eventually got it done. Lots of bumbling, stumbling and cussing -- sure was glad no one was around to see how bad of a mechanic I am. I have every expectation of the 20k service going much smoother now that I understand the process. Best part of doing it myself was learning about the bike. I won't be flying solo on any cams or bore kits, but just doing the regular maintenance is an achievement for an inexperienced fella like me.
