It is an O2 sensor for the computer. Only way to remove it is to install an aftermarket tuner . My PC-V has you disconnect it as it is not used. some systems replace the narrow band sensor with a wide band sensor such as the auto tune add on for the PC-V.
Depends on what you want to pay. There is the Dynojet PCV, Dynojet Powervision, TTS Mastertune, etc. I personally like and run the TTS Mastertune. The Dynojet Powervision is supposed to be a real good choice as well. What other mods have you done? Air cleaner, etc?
Sky's the limit. If you simply want a stage 1, then get an air cleaner set up like SE, Arlen Ness Big Sucker, Doherty, etc., put on a decent set of slip ons after you make your duals (or buy an aftermarket set of duals or 2-1, etc.) and a tuner. If you want more, you can do cams. If you want more, you can bump it up to 103 or higher, if you want more you can have headwork done. It all boils down to your riding style and what you're looking to accomplish. As well, make sure all parts compliment each other.
For now on my 08 Ultra I have 575 cams, SE air cleaner, 2-1 exhaust, TTS Mastertune and changed the gearing with the 49 tooth ring gear conversion. I will soon be bumping it up to a 103 with no headwork and leave it at that for quite some time. Right now it pulls great and does what I want it to. Wife and I and loaded with luggage and it runs great.
