I have a good buddy that has 300,000+ miles on a toyota pickup that's ran Castrol all it's life.
Haven't looked into the stuff myself so I know little about it.

Pick one you like and that is easy to get a hold of and then ignore the rest of the oils threads you see. Mobil 1 15-50 is a great oil for the engine and is available at walmart and other auto parts stores.
What he said.

Make sure it's a motorcycle 20W50 oil and not 15W50 automotive oil !!

Using automotive oil in a motorcycle wet clutch is not recommended........ever..... !!

You're absolutely right Ed, wanting proof of an outrageous claim (Amsoil = possible engine failure) is pretty ridiculous because as we all know, nothing is more definitive than speculation and hearsay.

Unless I'm blind or crazy, the oil in the motor of a HD is separate from the oil that lubes the clutch. Now in a Honda.............

Besides price, I can't tell the difference between Amsoil and Mobil1. I switched to Mobil1 15W-50 and the bike runs as good, even a little quieter.

Mobil1 15W-50 works great in my engine. I also have it in my primary now as an experiment and there's no slippage whatsoever. I'll switch to Mobil1 20W-50 in the primary as a precaution but I don't think it's necessary.
