thing is I'm 26 and I'm afraid I'm going to miss the "look" of the softail....Im really torn.
I'm 31, and I've had my SG for a few years. What do your buddies ride? Most of the people I ride with have baggers of some sort. One of my friends picked up his SG at 25 and loves it. It's all about what you do with it. I won't go back to a softtail.
Every single rider I ride with has switched to a bagger (except one, he's still riding a Boss Hoss) Mostly they talk about having the radio...but I think the fairing/windshield is the real reason.
Trade in? Just pre-lube your rectum before going in, but from what I see on the forums most guys find a good jamming worth it to have the bike they want.
I'm 27 got my '11 SG in November and love it. Although I've never had a softail I came from Japanese sport bikes and would tell you I'll never ride another one of those. My SG is my baby and I love it!
Drove softies up till 2004 and bought a Road King and just a few weeks ago a 2011 SG with power pac. You will never want to go back. HD touring bikes are so awesome dude.
