Default $500 for lights?!

Anyone got LED headlight? Worth it? How's the beam and light quality compared to stock? How about the $200 upgrade light that HD sells?

I might be able to get a kitchen pass because it's a safety related upgrade.

Much appreciated!

I purchased the black HD LED headlamp when it first came out. Big difference. My neighbors even commented on it since they noticed the beam before I even turned the corner. HD USA has a comparison video online. The 2011 catelog also available online has a comparison graph. However, the real impact will probably see it in person at night. I'd post the links but I'm surfing on an iPad and it's not the greatest tool for cutting and pasting links.

There is a wealth of info in the following threads - These guys did a full blown comparison and even updated it. Base off their review I ordered one for each of my bikes and one for a friend (better pricing when your buying 3 of them).

I went to a different bulb, I think is a 6000 blue stock replacement bulb and alot happier than the stock yellow and only spent like 12 bucks. If I was going to spent that much I'd put a Brighta$$ tailight. People in Ark just seem to wanna ride ur butt none stop even if your doing 15 mph over the limit.

That's another reason I went with LED turn indicaters and brake light as well.

Like anything else that costs a lot of money, after you get over the sticker shock, you'll find you have a great product that will be very useful riding at night. Where the light is shining I see everything. With the stock light I'd be on top of an object before I could make it out. I'm hooked on my HD LED headlight. Next Christmas I'm getting the passing lights.

I have the LED passing lamps. They are fantastic!
If my HID headlamp fails, I will go to the LED in a heartbeat.

I have the HD version on my 11 Ultra and i really like them. They cost me $500.00 cash as part of the deal when i bought the bike. I ride alot at night and for me they are alot better than the stock lights. I got the black version.

I went the Kury/CD/Trucklight route. The headlight and the passing lamps were $425. That's a small price to be able to see at night, and be seen better during the day.
