most guys who have one seem to like them a lot. i have a friend with a roadking and he has one on it. i've ridden his roadking and i found the backrest to be annoying as hell for me. i don't want one for my streetglide.

I had the fixed position unit on my 08 and loved it. then I got the adjustable one for my 2010 and it is without a doubt the better way to go... So much so that it was one of the first things I added to my 07 when I got it. your a big guy, you'll like the extra support and the ability to change your position on long rides.
I highly recommend one for long trips. don't foget we like trip pictures. so make sure to take some and post them here.
Good Luck and ride safe
RIP

I installed one recently, new mustang seat and backrest. Haven't had the chance to ride yet though. I'm hoping for good results

If you have one do you like it and would you recommend it?

Thanks, Craig
Wouldn't go on a long distance trip without it.

I've got lower back problems and w/o the backrest I found myself slumping and after about 75 miles, the pain started...I've got the HD adjustable on my Ultra and it makes relaxing and riding (w/o pain) so much more comfortable. Wouldn't have another bike w/o a backrest.

It simply a must have for the long haul. I dont get a chance to ride very often, and when I do it is long haul, it was th 1st thing I had put on at the dealership when I bought it.

I bought a Mustang adjustable back rest for my first tour with the Road King. Now, I never take it off. It increases my comfort tremendously. Last fall I rented an Electra Glide out west and spent three days touring without a back rest. It was like torture after two hours. I have been spoiled and I like it.
