If you order one thats to high you can bring it to a glass company and have someone that knows how to sand in down or cut off what ever needs to be trimmed i have done over 100 at my shop so it works.

I too am the same height -on my Heritage, had the stock size 19" - Went with a light smoked 16" from JC Whitney - I also had changed my seat which with the stock screen, I was right in line with the top of the screen.
16" works great for me.

The right height for your windshield will depend to some degree on the seat you are sitting! Great advice earlier, to work out the correct height by marking the shield and riding with it. Also that the convention is the top of the shield should be about level with your nose. So with the help of an assistant you can place that suggested mark on your shield at nose level and try it out.

Let us know how you get on and what height you go for!

I'm also 5'8". On my 2011 RKC I did the same thing as on my previous two RKCs - took the windshield to a plastics fab shop and had them cut it down 2" (keeping the same contour). Works like a champ, and it cost $70 rather than forking out for a whole new shield.

I got tired of the buffeting and changed my full size quick detach for the shorty shown below... It only protects up to about mid chest but great for around town. On the road I switch to a 3/4 helmet with flip shield and enjoy it that way... I went for looks, not wind blocking.
