On our `09,the parade mode would kick on at almost every stoplight on my way home from work,(in the summer). This was when the bike was stock.
Then I had the PCV installed, and dynoed.Parade mode doesnt come on at all on my ride home, unless there is a traffic jam or something to keep me stopped.Even then,it still takes a while for it to activate.
I did the air intake, slipons, PCV, HD Oil cooler, and had my Ultra dynoed and the EITMS would still engage constantly. About a week ago I added the HD parade fan and EITMS has not engaged since (to include getting stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic on I95 for about an hour this morning).
I have the fan set to come on automatically with the supplied sensor, but I did not mout it to the back of the air intake. Long story short... it comes on earlier - right about when the engine temp hits 280.
Thanks for the info guys. I think I am going to try the fan. I wasn't going to put a fan on it because the one Harley offers doesn't fit my taste. The other one looks pretty good though, it will however have to be powder coated!
mine went into heat management mode once. it was the day i rode it home new from the dealership. that's the only time it's happened as i don't get stuck in traffic, nor do i let it idle much.
