I have a 2001 road king and I installed a easy pull clutch , I have a service manual and followed every step. Now when I started it up and put it in gear let out clutch the bike does not move. I adjusted the clutch also. Is any one out there that can help mms out?
I would go through the clutch adjustment. Loosen the cable adjuster all the way and then remove the derby cover and loosen the nut in the center of the clutch basket and back out the threaded rod untill you are sure it is not touching the pushrod that is behind it. Then screw in by hand the threaded rod until you feel it touch the pushrod. Then back it out 1/2 turn and lock the nut down using an allen wrench to hold the threaded rod from moving as you do this. Then go back to the cable adjuster and adjust that until you have about 1/16 free play at the lever and lock the nuts down.
Check your work by watching your clutch plates. As you pull in the lever the plates should move out (disingaging) and as you let out the lever they should come back together completly (engaged).
If everything is working as discribed then button up the derby cover.
Thanks 03 I will try adjusting the clutch again tonite when I get home, and yes I do have free play in the cable. This whole install was pretty straight forward.
