So the wife and I went to Vegas a couple of weeks ago and bike was running real good until we pulled into a gas stop in Prump. Pulled in the clutch and the engine died. The bike started right back up and seemed to run fine. A little bit later pulled into Vegas and the Idel was up around 3000 rpm. What the heck? Looked at it and all seemed well. Checked for vacum leaks and non were found. Rode the bike home and the same thing was happening. Somtimes it would die and outhers it was idleing high. I have cleaned the idle valve and replaced the cylinder temp sensor. The bike is a 07 with the Rinehart Tru Duals, 103 cams, air cleanner and a PC III with the o2 sensors removed. Unpluged the PCIII and it was no different. The dealler says it is the PCIII but I do not agree. I am lost at this point... Any one???
I had the same set up on 07 sg. rinehart true duals, ac and pc III. Mine didnt idle that high but it would die on me a couple times when I was sitting at a stoplight. I did some mods this winter and went with a sert and I have had no issues with it so far.
I had similar issues on my 07 but, it was 2 different problems on 2 separate occasions. Stalling would happen when the ETMS engaged (and it engaged way too often!) or coming down a freeway off ramp after a long haul. Dealer flashed the ECM and it had not happened sense but, ETMS has never engaged sense either! As for the high idle, (mine only ever got as high as about 1900 RPM) there was a pinhole leak in one of the fuel lines inside the gas tank where the hose rubbed on the top of the tank. The HD replacement hose is shorter and does not loop up and rub.
Good luck!
PS: Also had Rinehart TD's, SE A/C, V&H Fuel Pak at the time of stalling issue. PC-V w/auto tune during high idle, I doubt it's you PC.

Reason: PS
I know this might sound stupid ... Check your battery connections they may have loosened up I had the same problem and it was a battery connection...Defy s any thing we have ever learned about these beasts but !!!!!
Has anyone figured this out.
Mine stuck at 3,000 on my way home Sunday. After I got home I disconnected the battery for a few days. After I reconnected it It rode good for a little bit then it went back up around 2,000.
Another thing a buddy was having the high Idle issue and he found out that shutting it down with the kill switch will sometimes cause high idle.. There ws a way to recoup this by recycling the Ign. switch ...
