We were just down there the first week of April, some cool days and some very nice days, we rode the Dragon of course and the Skyway, a few miles before you get to the Telico plains end of the skyway there is River road, I love this road, it follows the river for 18 miles before turning into gravel. absollutly beautiful ride along the river. about six miles down river road is Bald river falls, worth the side trip. On the way to the dragon we also road 209 between Hot Springs and I-40(see link below) this is a great ride about 2 hrs from the Dragon. In Hot springs you can soak in a private Hot tub for and hour for $13. the hot tubs are right on a river. It was 40 degrees out side and 102 in the hot tub and a river running by 5 feet away, it was $13 well spent. The hot tubs are fed by the natural hot springs.
I was there in 2007 on my VTX and rode the Dragon, BRP, Devils Triangle, Skyway. Went to the Wheels of Time Musuem. Stayed at place called the Cherohala Motorcycle Resort. Very nice couple who own the place.
Thanks, I cant wait to go back. I want to explore some of the other roads people are mentioning in this thread. Im sure we just scratched the surface with the places we visited.
Will be spending Next Week up there .. Going to se if can scrape the pegs and pipes on the FXR a little ... Although been to the Dragon several times never with the FXR which has a sweet Lean Angle ..
Have been within an hour and half of the dragon for the past 2 days and had nothing but rain. Better weather is supposed to be here either late Friday but definately on Saturday. Was hoping to get a mid week run of the dragon, guess it just wasnt meant to be...
Will be making my third trip there next week. Leaving on Thursdau AM and will be riding up there all weekend. Absolutely beautiful....hoping the weather cooperates. I was GOING to go to the Cherokee Survivors Bike Rally, but it was cancelled. Anybody heard why?
Rode the Dragon last October for the first time. I would say anyone who rides it for the first would naturally be a little "nervous" with good reason
It is one of the great motorcyclist experiences and I will do it again soon.

I really recommend you check out the "Blue Waters Mountain Lodge" in Robinsville. The owners are fantastic people and I think the lodge is a slice of heaven. In fact I'd give it a 10. We were 6 guys but probably even better with the wife. They have a website if you google it but their pics just don't do it justice. It's not the cheapest place but they make a great home made breakfast with the room and serve an amazing dinner. Also I think it's a dry county and they serve liquor!! If you're into that after a great days riding. HA!
It's just off the east end of the Cherohala and 10 south of the Dragon. Good roads all close by.
Tell them Jim from the Odea group sent you. I will attempt to attach a couple pics of the place.
