As someone mentioned, they have professional photographers on the Dragon taking pictures as you ride. I did checkout one of the websites and found our pictures. I will post some if I can figure it out.
What I found scared the crap out of me. I have V & H Monster Ovals on my FLHX. My friends are always telling me it looks like my pipes are going to hit in the turns. A few of my pictures showed about a 1 -2 inch clearance in the turn. What scares me about that is I wasn't pushing it nearly as hard on this first run. Hitting the pipe would take weight off the rear tire and I'm sure that could have ruined my day.
Any one else notice this with their M. O's??
On my 98 Ultra I had Kerkers with the extentions turned down. Scraped the tips, scraped the floorboards with no problems. When I dragged the kickstand, the rear tire did seem to lift though.
I had M.O. and I took them off because I did scrape them on the ground and it wasn't on the Dragon. They scraped the ground during tight 360 turns and on moderate cornering. I explained my concerns to V&H and they understood. I now have V&H oval slip ons and they are much better. Still close but they never scrape. I have dragged the floorboard brackets and lifted the rear tire and the mufflers never touched the ground. If i still had the m.o.'s on it I guarantee i would have went down.
Great pics JC. Did you have 1" floorboard extensions? Gonna go up there soon and thought about going back stock floorboards for that ride.
JC....you've got mad riding skills dude. Kill-Boys photos I presume. I'm not ready to take the new Bagger through the riggers of the tail.....and I doubt my Momma will be so relaxed scrapping pipes and running boards.
Visited the Dragon, Cherohala, BRP, KFC Museum last year and it was a blast. We will be back there this May for alittle more fun.
Staying in Gatlinburg TN (great area)
Ride the Dragon again (fun is)
Ride the Devils Triangle (more fun then the dragon) Sunday best day since its used by the coal trucks.
Ride out to the JD Factory
South one day to the GA Mountains
BRP and Skyline drive on the way back to Connecticut after a week of fun.
Best part will be the Iron Butt on the way down. Connecticut to TN by way of Ohio then south. Yup I see a 5K week beginning May 6th
Did the Dragon 4 years ago from Milwaukee. Saw a Pontiac Solstice that was 4 wheels up. Didn't see it happen but no one was hurt. The look on the guys wife's face said it all. It's lots of fun, just stay in your lane. I'd like to do it again.
Thanks. They are from four different photographers that set up on the Dragon.

I just installed floor board extensions a few weeks ago, so in those pics I did not have the extensions.

Thanks, Ive had alot of training and it has really paid off. She was very relaxed and really enjoyed it. She said it was like an amusement park for adults.
Thanks, I cant wait to go back. I want to explore some of the other roads people are mentioning in this thread. Im sure we just scratched the surface with the places we visited.
Rode the Dragon last year mid week (and it was packed). I was a bit disappointed in the fact the fastest I could go was 25 the whole way. It was a great experience though and the road was fun. I think the roads around there are just as fun IMO and not as crowded.
