Tread depth, replace or wait?

12,000 miles on a front tire is about half life. However; since you had a flat I would replace it and the tube also. Jake Wilson has great prices on tires. Wouldn't be a bad idea to inspect your wheel bearings and brake pads while you have the wheel off.

Replace it, they need to take the tire off the wheel to patch it anyway and then put it back on, do you want to pay twice for that when you are so close to not having the choice of replacing it anyway? Also 3/32 is not all that safe, legal yes, but if you hit rain it is not a lot of tread.

I usually run my tires to where they are almost bald but for practicality i would probably change it... it is only half worn... But if you already have it off and you are not sure....If i was not sure and doubted the tire i would change it...I however have an Indy that only charges me $20 to mount a tire...All the factors make your decision yours...WHatever makes you feel warm n fuzzy...
